I hope you plan to put some figures in the scenes, I think there are still several plastic companies that produce Western figures and they would certainly add to the already superb models. Excellent mate.

Next up, we have a couple of buildings from Fat Dragon Games Rio Draco Base Set. The set includes several builds a number of base plates, and some accessories- boardwalks, outhouses, 2-D hitching posts, water troughs, and a 2-D "box" printed to look like a wagon. The models are intended for 28mm miniatures gaming.

The buildings here are the Sherrif's Office and a dry-goods store. They were made at a 20% reduction from base scale and will be given away as a gift. The buildings of the set, and the base plates, feature a limited amount of layers-controlled customizing options. I used the water-troughs, 2-D hitching posts, and boardwalk with this model, along with the "desert plain" terrain plate. Interesting for a wild-west setting, all the other terrain plates feature sections of a river running through desert terrain!

The photo quality isn't of the best, but I tried to shoot one image at "street level" to give a feel of ambling up to this pair of buildings in some one-horse town....

These buildings have hot and dusty all over them. You could attribute the soft focus in the last photo to heat shimmer. No one will ever know 'cept'n you and me pard - and umpty thousand list members...

You would probably be interested in Glenn's models, too. Also intended for gaming.
Here is a link showing them being used in a game: Finger and Toe's Forum • View topic - Something To Do With Dice - On Tour

I have several of Glenn's western models; the second one I listed on this thread, Casa del Viejo, is from his Lincoln County series. I have a couple of others of his in the work pile. Interesting set of photos of a real nice layout- thanks for sharing.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if I ran into some locals playing a Wild West game, I'd probably be hooked.

Exceptionally fine piece of work my friend, I agree that the slight blur adds to the effect just need the tumble weed and couple of horses tied up to the rail.
Look forward to seeing more.

There are many inexpensive, 1/72 scale, plastic figures available for gaming or dioramas in the American West.

I have quite a few of them. Taking the time to paint them is another matter....
