Nice lighthouse. I have it in resin and around the buoys.
Make a choice of models you have. I look forward to the next. Models of lighthouses is always scarce. |

Mousetower / Mäuseturm
Hi all,
this time it's not a lighthouse, but a signaltower. It is located on a small island in the river Rhein in Germany, near the city of Bingen. The kit is sized in 1:87, but I scaled it down to 1:250. Even downscaled it fitted good and came out very nicely. For the story of the tower see here Mouse Tower - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I added some pictures of the kit and of the real tower near Bingen. Best Regards Dieter |

Hi Dieter,
Interesting model. Nice clean build. Like the added touch of the photos of the actual signal tower. Fred |

I love the "mouse tower". Hexagonal towers are so much easier to model with than round ones at that scale

Mangturm from Lindau/Bodensee 1:250
Hi all
and thank you Fred and kcorbin. In another forum I have become aware of the wediul.de - Ausschneidebögen page. Dieter Welz from Ulm put there some architectural models from the Allgäu to download at different scales. New on his page is the Mangturm from Lindau, which is a striking eye-catcher in the Lindau harbor with its colorful tiled roof. The Mangturm from the 12th century used to be a guard and signaltower within the fortification of Lindau. He was in older times completely surrounded by water, but now stands at the edge of the dock. The signal function has taken since 1856 the new round lighthouse on the pier. I was at Lindau the last autumn, so I had to build this nice little tower. As mostly, I scaled it down to 1:250. Building was easy so far, the instructions are good. Missing until now are all smaller parts, they will come with the next update. I added a photograph of the harbour of Lindau, showing the Mangturm on the left side. Regards Dieter |

Hi all,
and now the last parts were added to the little Mangturm. Bulding was nice and easy, rescaling to 1:250 was no problem, the parts fit good. Dieter Welz has some more models on his homepage, I think they are worth a try. Here are some pictures of the model and last pictures of the Mangturm and the harbour of Lindau in the Bodensee in Germany/Switzerland. Regards Dieter |
