Hi all,

this time a lighthouse from USA: Split Rock Lighthouse at the Lake Superior, near Two Harbours in Minnesota. This lighthouse was built in 1910 after the big november-storm on the great lakes in 1905, which wrecked 30 boats and cost many lifes.

The free download came from Wurlington Bros, they sell many small models of american landmarks and have some free downloads on their homepage, too.

The model is in scale 1:300, I rescaled it to 1:250. The model is simple, made only of a handful pieces, but the characteristic shape of the lighthouse comes out very nice.

Hi all,

I couldn't resist: I built another lighthouse of the Wurlington Brothers: This time Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. It is the tallest lighthouse made of bricks in the USA.

This simple kit is again a free download American Landmarks - Cape Hatteras Light
Assembly was without problems and the result is a nice little model.

Hi all, the next one is all fantasy. Its a download of RavensBlight, a small lighthouse on a stone-base, very dark and mysterious.

Building was easy, only a handful of parts, but they give a nice result.
I printed in a smaller version, so the lighthouse is about 16 cm high.

Hi all,

this time I build the harbourlight of the croatian island Krk. The kit is a free download of Kartonwerft (look at 'Downloads').
It comes on a half page DIN A4, the scale is 1:250.

The model and its parts are very small, but everything fits nicely together, an excellent construction. It was fun to build.

Hi all,

here comes a new one: The lighthouse Haamstede in the Netherlands. Scale is 1:300, the kit comes in two pages DIN A5 (half size of letter-format), published by Sjoerd Hekking.

I like the nice red-white colour of this lighthouse, the build itsself was easy.
