.... placing so many recessed windows w i t h o u t the »frames« made of
heavy cardboard occurs to be a challenge (for me) .... :-) Finally both the main walls are equipped with different types of windows. Unfortunately the raster of the offset printing is visible in most of the close up pictures. I will try to avoid this irritating effect in the future. |

Looks very good, Thomas, raster effects to the contrary notwithstanding.

CASTLE LIPNICE (Lipnitz) 1/250 (erkoTYP / Prague 2010/2011 Richard Vyškovský)
The nearly square shaped tower seems to be a fixed-point for the walls
being attached to it in the following steps of assembly. So it receives a core made of 1 mm thick cardboard. Some openings for better handling were added also. |

CASTLE LIPNICE (Lipnitz) 1/250 (erkoTYP / Prague 2010/2011 Richard Vyškovský)
Before the tower is completed with the »symphony-of-recessed-windows«
I draw my attention to the towers' walkway and the supporting skids. According to the instruction drawing, Richard Vyškovský proposes straight wooden(?) sticks - these were replaced by a more elaborate design which looks a bit more authentic ... The second picture shows the »new« skids before they received any coloring. |

Thomas,
Are your skids made with thick cardboard or wood? They look very good. Regards, Fred |

Hello Fred,
the »new« skids were printed in digital color to 90 grams/sqm white paper, backed by 1.00 mm thick cardboard (creme-white color), these two layers were backed by 0.35 mm brown cardboard. This »sandwich« causes satisfying strength and stabilty - needless to say it was tricky to cut. Nine blades were wasted ... :-) Thank you for recognizing what I'm assemblin' ... Cheers Thomas |

The tower is almost completed, some decorative details for the windows have to be added.
The skids received final coloring and I'm quite satisfied with the result. |

Thanks Thomas for the explanation. I agree that the colored skids look very realistic on the tower.

CASTLE LIPNICE (Lipnitz) 1/250 (erkoTYP / Prague 2010/2011 Richard Vyškovský)
.... a little progress was achieved. I took some time & effort to give
the stairs a bit more »reality« ... |
