Leon Schuijt: Limburgse Boerenhoeve

Hi all,

Here I am again with a new build, this time a farmstead.

This kit is from the Dutch publisher, Leon Schuijt, known for various cars, aircraft, ships, and farms.

I am building this kit as my entry into the Architecture competition at the IPMC.

I glued the base of the model to a basswood plaque that I sprayed black.

I did not follow the number system, some of the smaller pieces I left out, I will be able to add them later.
I wanted to get the main walls of the main buildings up, and be able to add the roof pieces when needed.

I hope you enjoy the pictures

Rick

I hope I can finish the farmstead either Monday or Tuesday evening.

I have been rearranging my house, moving and cleaning.

But I have been able in the late hours of the evening to build the small bits to the models, and score, cut, fold and shape the roof pieces, and a piece of the stone fence.

and for those of you coming to the convention, you can see the farmstead in all it glory.

Rick

This looks like a real beauty of an architectural model, Rick.

Please bring it to Dulles.

Your wish is my command Mon Colonel.

There were some mismatches, especially on the roofs, but nothing much out of the ordinary.

Rick

Hi!

It is a nice model.
We have the same farms in northern France : or they look "close" to this one.
In fact, it is normal because of the historical origin of this french region : "les Flandres" are a bit of the Netherlands in France, and the architecture is the same from west of Calais to the dutch-german frontier and may be farther to Denmark.

What is the scale of this farm?

Bye!

Thanh Thuy.
