Thanks, Gixergs.
If memory serves me right, I think that was Mike Stampers model. Fred |

A truly beautiful build. Too bad the model is rare; my youngest granddaughter would have loved it.

Thanks Missileer,
The book shows up on eBay once in a while at a reasonable price. Fred |

Completely awestruck by that model. I'm a Pratchett fan and new to paper modelling, I'd love to be able to produce something like that one day.

Thanks Svendo42 and Philip.
The model goes together with very few problems and the instructions are great. Fred |

I had a look on ebay, amazon etc. While there are some at ridiculous prices, there are quite a few at around 40-45 pounds - which give the size of the kit is reasonable for a paper kit of this size.
I have seen plenty in secondhand and charity bookshops as well - for next to nothing! ------------------- Anyone wanting to make one should ahead. It needs care due to some of the domed roofs and towers, but it is easily possible for anyone who takes it slowly. The card is fairly thick and easy to handle. My suggestion is to start with the smallest buildings, then make walls, then make some of the square buildings. The progression will then leave in you good shape to tackle the rest. The instructions are very good, and the fit of everything excellent. ------------------- I enjoyed the build, but as I mentioned earlier on mine suddenly got attacked and eaten by insects! It may have been something in the paper. I was also one of the few models I did not varnish for starters - I often wonder if it was varnished, if it would have survived. Here are a few pics of it in the early stages. I never bothered with further shots after the remainder of the buildings got attacked........
