Michael
Thanks for the clarification on the MG. I wasn't familiar with the older models. |

Good luck on the little cars, they should scale up or down from 1/72 fairly well.
The old Wheat-a-Bix says that it's an MG. I thought it might be the Midget version and adjusted the drawing to the wheel base of the Midget MG. I usually conserve on black ink (not that it matters at this scale) and color the wheels and square "axles" with a black sharpie. I have some wheel hubs which you can see in the MG photo, but they may stick out too much from the wheels and fender, we'll have to see when done. Also I added steering wheel and headlights to the old Bix patterns. Keep in mind to make adjustments as necessary, since these are very old patterns. Jeff |

A few more parts to go
Here's what a few weeks of work looks like in the middle of construction.
Going to have to get to the roof after the holiday weekend. I think the cars came out well. Once again the building pasted on to a Kelloggs Raisin Bran box. |

Take a pic in monochrome and it would look like a pic in a 30's magazine.

Ya know, it would be a neat historical series to have a line of kits with a classic fighter from a country, several town buildings/houses, and a vehicle.

Hmmm?
I was able to get the roof on the garage and start on the BP petrol lorry.
Looks like I didn't think things quite thoroughly when designing new parts. The cab chassis does not reach the back as seen in my photo. Also a bigger mistake is that I missed two other wheel sets, for a total of eight wheels with three parts each. Here's a revised lorry that's fully colored, feels like some parts could be changed to make assembly easier/simpler. Will have more pics by the end of next week. Jeff |

Petrol station checked off
So, here is the finished lorry to me the red on the fuel tank looks more brown
than the red on the MG, but definitely darker. The figure in the overalls is the free old version of Busarama's X-wing pilot figure in brown. Could be Mr Winch, the local mechanic or one of his sons as the sign on his garage announces. Maybe he could be the lorry driver, or a local farmer...endless possibilities, we'll see what comes up next. There's still the school and the church to do next. I already have built a stone Kirken from a German Website which looks more Lutheran, while this one in the set is more Anglican. |
