1/72 European house
Salut à tous!
This model opens a collection of posts to illustrate what is possible to build with cardboard only, but other materials too, when necessary (to enhance). This house is a typical french house of the beginning of XXth century, common in a lot of small towns, and could be a hotel or an inn. Window glasses are of rhodoid, roof edges are of stain sheet, and lamps, electric poles, fountain, and garden's gate of plastic. Except these pieces, the whole house is made of cardboard. I found the plans in an HO models'book, and modified the scale and the look (which is a bit different from the original, in the part looking to the garden). The roof, the garden's walls and the road are made of HO printed card, the angles and chimney in red bricks too. The doors, windows, shutters, etc , are from my own. Bye... Thanh Thuy. Nice looking abode there, I like the added touches, nothing like a little multimedia to add some interest.

Thank you!
I work on 1/72 for wargames with figurines (previously I had a railway HO set and made 1/87 models), 1/1200 for napoleonic and ancient naval wargames, and 1/32 for figurines. 1/72 allows a great range of detailed models. Quote:
I discover the word "abode" that I did not know at all before. To be on an english-speaking forum increases my knowledge of this language, and it is a very good thing. To come back on the topic, I agree with you : the added touches give "life" (it's what I say and think!). Quote:
I don't know if it is a great job, but it gives me some delight doing it! ...and I am very proud if this enjoy people too! Bye! Thanh Thuy. |

Great job! I love that look for houses with the steep pitched roofes, even if its not really needed here in the Arizona desert
