1/72 Short story, Nimaga-Sanga in the 70ies, and nowadays....
Hello tout le monde!
Our member Art-Deco asked for an exhibition of my architectural models mixed together : I did so during "wargames". Here is a "short story" (I think I am a bit arrogant when I present it with such a designation :o ) directing a fictive french Consul, a fictive African President, an his no less fictive country, the Democratic Republic of Nimaga-Sanga, with its capital Ifoba N'Kela... From our AFP special correspondent in Ifoba N'Kéla, capital of Nimaga-Sanga... Tuesday, Februgust 30th 197# , Ifoba N'Kéla's airfield: Comeback of Maréchal-Docteur-Président Bendélé Lumengo, after an exile of several monthes in France, where he stood as refugee since the coup d'etat of last Apruly 197#... French government acted for a UNO help, and French army is authorized to position the new Nimaga-Sangese elections. The french Consul, Pierre-Edouard Dugland de la Michemolle welcomed the Maréchal-Docteur-Président when he got off the plane . The people, prepared affair to celebrate this come-back. Nevertheless, UNO is obliged to provide food and medical help to the new republic, meanwhile the Well 49 regain its initial output and gives new incomes to the ex-exile government... Nimaga-Sangese Air Force will be functional when the Shell Society will have elbow room again, that won't be long... End of communiqué. After an era of prosperity, The capital Ifoba N'Kela became that : I can send close-ups of any parts of the "town", if any interest... So, maybe...to be continued? Bye, Thanh Thuy. |

Thanks, Thanh Thuy! That was wonderful! Wow, your Ifoba N'Kéla is really extensive, like a model railroad layout. Very detailed!
What happened to the villagers living in huts in the 1970s? Did they get jobs in the gleaming new capital? Or did the UN relief money and Shell contract profits all stay in the hands of the French-educated local elites? Wishing for peace and prosperity for all the residents of Nimaga-Sanga! |
