Beautiful model! I visited Mount Vernon for 20 years straight. I was an eighth grade teacher. The place never failed to amaze me!

Not a build (yet) but an unveiling... I picked up this vintage cardboard kit off eBay from Bachmann’s "Train Town" series, made in the 60's. Unlike their earlier series of Instant Buildings which are printed on thin cardstock, these are on 1mm cardboard, die-cut, and lightly "textured" through embossing to simulate boards and sheet-metal roofing. This is the "ABC Freight Station" in HO scale. As a value package for the time, the kits also included lichen for foliage and some plastic figures and freight accessories. The people and freight were gone from the kit I bought, but the pack of lichen is still present. I've laid out three photos: the contents and a close-up up the embossed siding.

So pleased to see this thread up and running again. You choose some really nice subjects to build, and you build them very well too.

I am anxious to see this as well. Any rough guesses on how old that lichen is, and whether it will still be use-able?
