A first coherent structure grows from individual components. The mysterious "holes" again have been given wooden shutters and I have added vividly - in a free interpretation - wooden structures to the supports, which Richard Vyškovský only indicated in drawings, under the small battlement and beneath the half-timbered tower.

the first »terrain piece« placed loosely against the wall ... with this model I want to try to have the terrain structures at the same time to the respective assembly group.

Speaking of »terrain«: The cause of the clearly visible "gap" in the area of the stairs (first picture, center) has not yet been found. Just like the entire "terrain" concept around the defensive wall, it pretty much "pinches" in this construction phase. Since otherwise the construction turns out to be accurate, I will postpone the elimination of the "problem" and clarify it in connection with the outer bailey (to be assembled later). Of course it will be solved. If necessary, I will add something with "on-board resources".

A good start Thomas.

I hope you don't mind me saying that in addition to your comments about his designs he used the same colours and shapes in almost all his kits. I made his versions of Tower Bridge and the leaning town of Pisa. It took me some time before I realised why these two buildings looked so strange.

Any way I'll watch your build with interest. I have just started the first building in his MPR book with the three towns and castle I'm making MPR II having made MPR 1 about 15 years ago.

Cheers
Mike

I love architectural models. They are what got me into this hobby initially. Your castle is shaping up to be a real beauty. I'll be following your progress with interest.

Great progres and nice addons.

Vyškovský is legendary paper model designer in Czech Republic. He has his distinctive style of hand drawn textures and he designed everything by his hand without computers all his life. He was architect and he knows historical architectural styles well. His hypotetical reconstructions (like this one) was based on archeological research and historical evidences.

Very nice so far. The addition of the wooden shutters and the corbels are a nice touch.
