Villa Rotonda from free pdf
I'm completely new to this forum, and haven't done much modelling for a while but I love it. Found this online recently and so I thought I'd give it a go.
Despite having to engage the dreaded mother-in-law to get use of a printer, it was easy to download & print and fairly easy to follow the visual instructions (the text is in perhaps Czech or Polish). A few little issues with the cheekblocks to the side of the stairs, which are all printed as though the left cheek instead of 4 left, 4 right and also I should have paid a little more attention to the order of some of the parts that get fiddly if you don't complete the insets before building the overall structure... but for the handsome sum of free I'm not complaining. It was easy enough to modify because the archway can be cut at the opposite end and the stairs cover the printed arch. Loved doing it, and it was nice to work with matt card which I think gives a more realistic finish to look like screed. |

Thanks! To be honest, now I look at it, it doesn't compare on the accuracy/neatness front with some of my previous projects. Thought I'd add a few pics of some of my prior stuff, albeit that some of it is quite old now... but since it rarely sees the light of day I thought I'd share it. First is La Pedrera - Gaudi's rockface building with no discernable stright lines Aaaagghh! I completed it about 18 years ago now, so maybe a bit of dust and a few of the chimeys aren't quite as they were when built But I've always been super proud of it as pretty much my first ever project.

A terrific build. Gaudi is lovely to look at but very hard to model. Having built Casa Batllo some years ago (no straight lines there either) I know how you feel.

@Phillip - Do you know of anyone who still produces a kit for Casa Batllo? I'd love to get my hands on one!

Wow, that looks like it must have been challenging. Gaudi sure believed that architecture should follow organic form

It was one of a series of models by Papeti, Barcelona. They have long since stopped publishing them. Sold my last copy a few months ago... Check out Ebay every now and again?!
