World Trade Center I (1973- 2001) Matt Bergstrom 1/4000 scale
... have nice evening,
For nearly 20 years, Matt Bergstrom has been offering this free model on his page »Build Your Own New York« (Link) The model itself is for download on ... (Free Model). It shows the WTC in the last expansion stage - so incl. WTC 7 (Vesey Street / Washington Street corner) and also the Marriot Hotel ... [Architect: Minoru Yamasaki (1912-1986) • Central Fountain Figure "The Sphere" on the Austin Tobin Plaza: Kugelkaryatide by german artist Fritz Koenig (1924-2017), Landshut] Of course, the entire model concept on a scale of 1: 4000 leaves little room for detail variety. So the iconographically very simplified representation looks very attractive - Yamasaki would be happy ... The assembly of the model is quit simple .... :-) One of the sheets as »Appetizer«: (Five pictures of the complete ensemble to follow) |

World Trade Center I (1973- 2001) Matt Bergstrom 1:4000
... the whole ensemble is not very big with about 103 mm height ...
»The Sphere« was made of a small, gold-painted glass bead. »The Sphere - 30 Years Artwork - 20 years Memorial« (click) |

Very nice. The foam trees add a sense of realism and scale.

And this is how the monument to the Twin Towers looked in 2016.
Two very impressive huge pits, over the walls of which water runs to the ground. In the borders are engraved all the names of the people killed. |

For 1:4000, it is a spectacular build. If one just looked at the photos of the finished build, you would think it was 1:1000 or bigger. Outstanding work.
When you think of how many folks were there (or should have been there), it is a miracle that we didn't lose 10 times as many folks. One of those days that will always be etched in my mind

Great model on the World Trade Center sir, I also manage to made a recolor of Scissors & Planes 1/300 scale F-15A Eagle, bearing the liveries of the former 102nd Fighter Wing that became the “First Responders” during the 9/11 attacks, I think that could be an additional for the diorama of it
