St. Peter's & Vatican - 1:3900 - Micromodels
A slightly different subject from the to-do pile: a reproduction of St. Peter's Basilica and the surrounding Vatican buildings from Micromodels in 1:3900 scale. Original was published in 1954. I always wanted to build one of the more complex architectural Micromodels, so here it goes.

I've done that too and it was a very nice experience. Have fun with it and be prepared to make chimneys, many chimneys.

That's an interesting kit - I made it many years ago.
If I remember, the dome has about 50 parts although that does sound a bit wild!! Cheers Mike |

This really does look tiny. Printing style very much of its time.

Thanks - it is certainly a good little test for the fine motor skills.
Mike, you're right about the dome - 16 internal formers, 16 ribs and 16 gallery pillars add up!

An excellent project. As always, you work so far is beautifully clean and precise. It will be a visually attractive diorama when completed.
