Indeed! This thread in particular (and maybe this whole community too) could serve as a frame story for a novel or a short story. Saying this because reading your post I just remembered a fine novel by Nevil Shute called 'Trustee from the Toolroom' and it's main character a miniature model engineer and journalist of a periodical magazine Miniature Mechanics. Well worth reading. Shute is better known for novels like 'On The Beach' and 'Town like Alice'. Both fabulous books. Shute was an aeronautical engineer in his civil professsion and pretty good one too.

Thanks for the info! Sounds worthy reading indeed.
Well, I am happy with the kabuki-za, but now I must think of something really complex and difficult to keep you interested. Maybe the castle donjon? I think of something small like Kakegawa. But anyway it must wait a while, I suppose. In the spring time I will be busy in my garden. For the moment I left Nekomura erection works to the Kajima Corp. construction company and I am sure they wouldn't disappoint me (nor you).

An attractive suite of construction vehicles and an impressive urban scene.

The Nekomura project still must wait a while. However in a meantime I am not totally inactive and the range of cars and vehicles is still growing. On the photo images: the second backhoe excavator (Kubota), much smaller than the first one (AOMI Big Crab), a delivery truck with the opened sliding side doors showing an interior and finally my first attempt to make a scooter.

These are absolutely amazing, and at 1/300? WOW.

Yep, it is 1/300 indeed. Take a look at the scooter: the real thing is 1.8 m long so the model is 6 mm long. The squares in the background (on a cutting mat) are 1 cm by 1 cm.

Do you use No. 1/11 th blade to cut out the pieces?
It looks like you have even managed to edge color the tiny cut outs. |
