Now, this series of images doesn't concern directly architecture but vehicles, however these vehicles doesn't make sense as separate cars, buses or truck models but only as a necessary addition to the 1/300 cityscape, so I decided to put them here.

I scaled down the numerous printable nets of vehicles and simplified some (and add another) details before printing (for example, mostly removing gluing tabs, except the longest ones, because such tiny edges doesn't require any; nonetheless I must add at least one stiffening bar glued inside each model and the additional layer of paper to the sides in order to make wheels more rigid).

Unlike buildings, my vehicles are exact copies of the originals. The same for companies logotypes. For example, on the first image there are Asics van and Yamato truck, both famous and recognisable brands. The Yamato Transport changed slightly their logo since 2021, April 1st but I used the old one, valid for the first decade of 21st century, as I mentioned before (anyway, I like the old one better).

A modern glass-facade tall building, housing offices and laboratories of the local branch of Fuji Pharma Company Ltd., another Japanese corporation.

Well, at least few of the buildings in Nekomura will be made after the really existing houses. It regards mostly the rural architecture (made after Sakamoto Sanda's numerous 1/150 models) and few city center tall buildings (made after the famous Akihabara diorama from Niku Mansei homepage). However most of the latter required far going interference in the facades and rooftops as every details were originally flat (simply printed). I used all the easy obtainable photographic documentation (sometimes including Google Maps satellite views) to improve the original design.

Here you can find three relatively small residental buildings (No 03, 04 and 05 of the original pdf by Niku Mansei), located at the Sudaninaka Street near the Mansei bridge (Manseibashi) over the Kanda river (Kandagawa).

All of those look real good. Soon you will have a nice city diorama.

Viator -

The vehicles look very good. I remember the Yamato cat and kitten emblem. My wife would always smile when we saw a Yamato truck on the streets (I might mention that our daughter-in-law, who was originally from Taiwan, is a Kittyler who, among other things, has a Hello Kitty emblem on her Mini Cooper).

So we all like that your town is named Nekomura (incidentally, I have been listening to the music of Nekomura Iroha while viewing the images of your buildings and vehicles).

I would like to live in Nekomura.

Don

This is the record of the last year or so.

I am not Speedy Gonzales of Modelling, although maybe it looks so. As a fresh member I am quick in posting the ready models images only.

In fact, now I don't work on the modelling every evening and even every week, so my rate equals approximately one paper model per month. Still I have some images of ready buildings and other older paper models stored on my disc, however most of them were just uploaded so the pace of posting will decrease significantly soon. That's life.

Maybe let's take a look into the "interior" of these models.

First, the stiffeners in the tiny cars. In the smallest models I made separate stiffening overlays for each wheel to make gluing easier.

Next, the buildings. I often neglected making full base, thus not closing the model from the under. If the model is printed on the thick sheet or in case of the paper was stiffened by sticking it with a cardboard I simply did nothing more. In case of small houses, printed on the standard 80 grams per sqm sheet, I made gluing tabs on the lowest edges, carefully bended inwards to secure the correct ground levelling and glued to the walls from inside.

The big buildings, even if made of 200 g per sqm sheets, require some more stiffening for the outer walls to avoid them being distorted while holding them by hand during the long and complicated installation works on the rooftop. So I often use a strip or two of a cardboard, rolled to the cylindrical shape and inserted inside the building. They mustn't be formed with gluing into the closed cyllinder and they mustn't be glued at all! If they are loosely convoluted into the springy helix and compressed (red arrows) before being put inside the building, they will better fill the free space from one side wall to the other while relieved and decompressed (orange arrows). Of course it is better to use some glue on the curved edges to secure the position of the stiffener.

One of my very old ideas of the multi-flat building design finally realised in 1/300 scale.

I used the paper model net prepared by Brother Co. for the specifically Japanese and Chinese (Hong Kong) very slender tall buildings ("tgw 5" series), multiplying and recolouring the original one- or two-storey "blocks" and this is the result.

In order to secure more or less vertical direction of the gluing segments to one another I put a strip of a cardboard between each of four "towers".

The railings are filled with glass for more elegant and modern view as well as to make them easier to be made: all the handrails and posts are simply painted on the outer surface of the 4 mm wide transparent plastic strip.
