Mole Antonelliana , Torino / Italia - Domus - 1:300

Hello, everyone

After my Polish Bridge Church is nearing completion, the next project is already on hold

This time we are going to Italy, in Turin there is a particularly interesting building, the Mole Antoniellana, which houses the Italian Film Museum.

It's really worth finding out about the building, I particularly like the glass elevator inside the dome

The model is on a scale of 1:300 and will still be 53.5 cm high

There are only 36 parts in very nice graphics on eight model construction sheets.

With four pages of picture building instructions, there shouldn't be any major problems.

So I'm looking forward to a model that probably won't take too much time

Greetings to all architecture friends
Kurt

I have only built one Domus kit - The Leaning Tower of Pisa - and found it a real headache. Parts fit was atrocious. Hope your experience is much better than mine! But if it isn't, I know you'll rise to the challenge, as you always do.

Now the dome ... for gluing I insert a tab inside ...

... so I can easily connect the dome segments ... Glue reinforcements inside

... and place the dome on the middle substructure ...and then glue the dome with substructure to the lowest part

Sincerely
Kurt

Parts 9 to 11 ... first reinforce with 0.9 mm Finn cardboard and 1 mm cardboard

Cut out pillars, reinforce stairs... and glue behind the pillars

Sincerely

Hi David , thank you

This construction phase is completed with the roof ... the lower border ...

...sit on the first plinth ...then add the staircase portal. Due to the not exactly punched parts, there are some gaps which are "spackled" with glue.

Sincerely
Kurt

Now prepare the middle border... and put the glued frame over the dome...

... the resulting gaps are filled with glue again

Since the next frame is clearly too big, I split it up... and glue the segments cut to size

Sincerely
Kurt

Attach two side wings with reinforcements ... to the rear of the building

Some of the pre-punched lines are imprecise, as with the two roofs. I just cut off the excess...

so the roof fits again

Sincerely
Kurt
