Georgia guide Stones

Okay Guys!, nothing like a little controversy to stir things up..

I've recently found myself between projects when My Dear Marji (who tends to lend herself to controversy) suggest that she would like to see my hands full with the Georgia Guide stones.

For those of you not familiar, they were erected in 1980 by an anonymous donor on a desolate piece of land just outside of Elberton Georgia.

Each of the four monoliths have inscribed the 10 dictations in eight of the worlds predominant languages

these languages are: English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and Russian.

The dictation(s) read:

1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
2. Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
4. Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
9. Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
10. Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature

Geometrically it's a pretty simple model, essentially a rectangle on top of five more rectangles, the challenge for me is that I'm not an artist so this for me will be a lesson translations and on texturing.

Perhaps more pressing will be to transcribe by hand the four glyphs that create the cap stone's perimeter.

They are:

Egyptian Hieroglyphics
Babylonian Cuneiform
Classic Greek
Sanskrit

Should make an interesting model sort of like Stonehenge Look at it as architecture not politics

Overall, I agree!

Just don't know or understand where 500,000,000 comes in. Was way past that when stones were erected.

Will have to research a little deeper...

Jagolden , think that number is 500 million, the current population is somewhere between 7-8 billion but that's only half of the weird, adjacent to the structure is a slab approximately 5 x 10 feet that list all of the stone sizes and weights, the builders, quarry, languages, etc. with a buried time capsule to be opened (?)

There is speculation that the Guide Stones are intended for survivors of a Nuclear Holocaust.
In that scenario, there might be less than 500,000,000 people left in the world.

Ah yes, how quickly one forgets about the nuclear winter, we won't need to volunteer.
There once was a song "We'll all fry together when we fry" thus enabling the cockroaches to inherit the Earth.
It's still the most likely outcome though. Throughout history empires have passed away with no more than a whimper. The Roman army never won a victory after CE (AD) 451 and could not affect the outcome. Can anyone imagine the American military not cracking the launch codes when their turn comes.
Or am I just being too optimistic.
