Rotterdam

I bought these buildings when we were in Rotterdam in September. They came in one book and cover seven of Rotterdam's modern buildings. I have only photographed six of them because the Market hall didn't come out as I had hoped so it ended up in the bin. All the buildings come in a different scale and photos don't help so I have added a metric ruler.

The station is regarded as one of the best stations in the world and like all the other building is huge. I have added a few pink bits to represent people, they are 2 mm tall.

Nice work Mike! For Dutch standards the modern architecture in Rotterdam is downright unique and actually quite un-Dutch. Great to have these buildings available as paper models!

Cheers,
Erik

Very strange looking buildings. To be honest I prefer the historical architecture. But the models are very nice and they prove your skills and experience. It is often a great pleasure to watch your work, dear Mike!

Nice work, Mike, with these little ones.
These are part of a bigger series of cardmodels published by STRM.nl.

Being born and often in Rotterdam it gives me always a proud feeling others also like the town!

Well done! I recognise all these from cycle trips across NL which have taken me through Rotterdam, the Blik house in particular.

Hi Mike,

I've got this book of models too - and a couple of other STRM ones. I've only constructed one so far but I thought I'd mention that I scan all my models first so if you need a copy of the market hall model I can supply it.

Nice modelling btw - I like the modern architecture just as much as the traditional older models.

all the best

Rob
