Bran Castle /Transylvania - BESTR - 1:120
Hello friends of the castle world
My next architecture model will be a castle again, namely the Dracula Castle Bran. This model is kept quite simple and, with 70 parts on eight sheets, also quite clear. Of course I will again bring in some changes in the build . With spooky regards Kurt |

Greetings you noble knights will69 and mike
We start with part 1 ... where I cut out the only printed wall projection and glue it to 3 mm Finn cardboard ... ... and after gluing the reinforcements back onto the wall ... then insert the remaining 1mm cardboard reinforcements With spooky greetings Kurt |

Hi
For part 2 there are again two changes to note... detach the upper gallery portion, reinforce with 3mm Finn cardboard and replace the section... ...insert reinforcements ...fit the prepared windows from behind The balcony, originally only recorded, is now raised... and the rear wall has been added Sincerely Kurt |

Since I am a lifelong Dracula fan, I have to comment on the fantastic castle itself...
which has absolutely no connection to Bram Stoker, or the Dracula legend... and even less connection to Vlad Tepes (whom some claim was a partial inspiration for the Dracula character). Its only recently that Romania started this(Castle Dracula)rumour as a tourist attraction. But none the less, its a fabulous looking castle and if I remember correctly was used for scenes/views in a 1970s documentary* about Dracula (starring the late great Christopher Lee). *Maybe thats where Romania got the idea of using it for tourists? Regardless, this will make a fabulous looking model. I can't wait to see what you do with it!

First off, nice looking castle. Those castles in Eastern Europe always look neat, especially the ones that are built on and follow ridges.
It would be nice if someone would make a paper model of a reconstructed Poenari Castle which was a home of Vlad Tepes. Some interesting lore surrounding that place, too.

I must look to see if there are plans. However it looks to be less a castle, and more of a strategic fortification. Its very narrow, with much in the way of living areas. Looks more like a fortified wall. Its name is Poenari Citadel. So is it really a "home"? A discussion for another thread obviously...sorry SS.

Hello, everyone
After a long break caused by a heavy Trojan attack, I'm back online. Since everything on my laptop is contaminated, including the construction report pictures, there is a small gap in the reporting. Now I'm starting again with my new laptop Now the current state of construction, I made the stairs with 1 mm cardboard steps in 3D... Continue with part 19... ... the big wall is being prepared, but I'm not going to add it to the castle right now ... instead I'm going to continue building on the inner courtyard for the time being, first the small stair tower ... ... which is prepared ... and used in the corner, which was quite tricky Sincerely Kurt |
