Alkmaar city scales - Leon Schuijt - 1:100

Hello friends of architectural model making

My next project is going to North Holland in the Netherlands

I will build Alkmaar's city scales.

The Bau sheet dates from 1990 , has a beautiful hand - drawn texture and is printed on slightly rough card stock .

Approximately 250 components are spread over seven A3 sheets.

The scale of 1:100 directly challenges me to make some refinements.

The entire presentation of the handicraft sheet really makes you want to cut it right away.

Sincerely

Kurt

Hi Vermin King

It would be spectacular , so I will hope too

Let's go, the first cut is the deepest

First, the base plate is reinforced with two pieces of 0.5 mm cardboard. The two layers of cardboard should prevent the base from warping, now let it dry thoroughly...

... For part A1, the windows, doors and small bricks are cut out first ...

... glue onto cardboard , windows and doors to 0.3 mm and the bricks to 1 mm , because they should protrude ... Now glue the prepared templates to the back . 1 mm gray cardboard in the area of the windows and 1.5 mm Finn cardboard for the doors on the ground floor.

Sincerely
Kurt

Hello

@ abhovi : I do not know about mor ebuildings of Alkmaar

@ Erik : a nice welcome to my next projekt

......................

Now cut out the window and door openings again...then color the edges, which I always do with simple watercolors.

Now the windows and doors are glued on from behind and the bricks are glued piece by piece at the front.

Sincerely
Kurt

Hi !

Part A2 with 1mm cardboard reinforcement ... is placed on the front building.

The thoroughly dried base plate is now cut out, edges colored and "sealed" with glue.

Now glue the front building onto the base plate.

Sincerely
Kurt

Hello everybody

First of all, thank you for the many thumbs, I'm always happy when my construction reports are well received

and further ...

Now to the roof gable, according to the building instructions a "hard chunk" ... first to the front part ...

... whereby I cut out the painting and the relief here and remove the lower flap ...

...then glue onto 1.5 mm Finn cardboard and cut out the openings again. Then with me

Reinforce 2.9 mm Finn cardboard to finally achieve a total thickness of 5 mm.

Sincerely
Kurt
