Jasna Gora
The castle hadn't arrived so I thought I'd continue the Polish theme.
This time it was Poland's main Cathedral where Pope John Paul originally resided. Again, I bought this kit many years ago and it suffered with the same problems as Gdansk. This time it was a much bigger building with many more pieces. This model brings back some good memories of our tour of Poland - We spent 10 days with me driving from Cracow to Gdansk, At Jasna Gora were given a "private" tour of the Cathedral by one of their guides. Generally the guides take groups round the Cathedral Mike |

Cute building. You've done the petals nicely. Something I've always struggled with.

Looks very pleasant and clean. And this model is really big, because the real thing is a pretty big one. I am often impressed looking at the old tower buildings being so tall and slender. Did you climb up the tower at Jasna Góra when visiting the cloister? And I must tell that I am impressed with your helms too, This is the part of every baroque model which too often requires corrections to be glued together properly!

We didn't climb the tower. Our guide was a student at the local university, studying English and German. She told us that this was the first time she have "guided" just two people, all the others were groups. When we had finished I said tips from two people would not be much so we invited her for dinner at our hotel, She had never been inside the hotel so it was a good way finish our visit to czestochowa

A very attractive set of buildings and model.
It's always nice to build a model of a place you have visited. Don |
