Sam's Study

You may be pleased to hear that this is the last of my modelling marathon.

It is also something a bit different. The kit comes from Robotime and is called a "DIY House". The kit comes in a box and contains dozens of wood bits, metal bits, material and more - the last bit is an LED kit to make up a neat light - batteries and wire are also included.

The instructions come as a 14 page book full of pictures and a system for identifying the parts. There are also pages of small pictures these make a collection of hanging pictures. and books. The books are made into small boxes that look like a collection, there are dozens of individual books where the pages are pieces of wood and then there are strips that are concertinaed to make opening books. Finally there are parts to assemble bunches of flowers and an armchair.

I wasn’t sure about starting the kit but I enjoyed it so much I hinted to my daughter that I’d like a similar kit for Christmas.

A very suitably busy study. Well crafted! There is a lot of detail in there.

Always a treat to see one of these kits built, especially one as well presented as yours. I built their Art Studio some time back. It was a lot of work. Did you find that you had to develop a couple of new skills you didn't even know you had?

Philip,

Upholstering a chair was a bit different. I've wired LEDs in the past. My soldering iron must be about 50 years old Ages before LEDs were even thought of

Thanks for all your comments

Chees
Mike
