Tombul Mosque, Shumen / Bulgaria - KAMEA - 1:200

Hello friends of architecture

With my next construction report I am breaking new ground in several respects.

After about 30 churches and chapels, I'm trying my hand at a Bulgarian model mosque for the first time.

It is the Tombul Mosque. I really liked the Bulgarian model building sheet, so it went on the to do list.

Approximately 170 pieces of beautiful hand-drawn graphics are spread across twelve sheets.

The construction instructions in written form cannot be deciphered by me due to the Cyrillic spelling. However, the image construction instructions should be enough to reach your goal.

With great anticipation of an exciting construction project and kind regards

Kurt

Good luck with the build. I hope it's better than some of their other kits.

I have made a couple and spent too much time trying to make the parts fit.

BTW - I bought the kits in Bulgaria many years ago and have never seen them any were
since

Cheers
Mike

C’mon. This is a MODELING forum. He’s building an architectural subject. Your personal feelings about religion don’t belong here.

Hello everyone

@ Siwi : How did you acquire this kit? Here : - Zeist Bouwplaten - Import, verkoop, ontwerp en productie van papieren schaalmodellen, maquettes en bouwplaten (cardmodels), Modelbouw, Rietveld cutoutmodels

it's starting ....

I start by reinforcing the large base plate (30 x 41 cm). To do this I use 1 mm gray cardboard twice, I cut out the two fountains... and raise the fountain platform by 1.5 mm. In the water basin, the 2D steps are raised using 1mm cardboard.

The first part of the wall... is being prepared...

...glue the cardboard behind, cut out the window openings and insert the window from the back.

Sincerely

Kurt

Hello ...............

I reinforced the arcade arches with 1.5 mm Finn cardboard... and stuck them back onto the wall.

Part A1b prepared in the same way... and connected to part A1.

Sincerely
Kurt

Thank you dhanners

And further

I reinforce the ceiling with 0.5 mm gray cardboard, plus another 1 mm gray cardboard... which is glued on the inside...

...so the ceiling should be strong enough to support the large dome.

Sincerely
Kurt

Looking good. What's the function of the triangle tab on the inside roof?
