House & Sign Painting Co. 1:87-scale scratchbuild

I scratchbuilt this trackside industry based on Bar Mills Models' "Oakleaf Shipping & Storage" kit. The deck is basswood, individual boards laid on Fos Scale Models' Waterfront Pier System and stained with Hunterline Weathering Mix. The buildings are papers from Clever Models laminated to 0.5-mm card (cereal box). The model's footprint is 6 inches x 8 inches. The signs came from various online sources.

Very artfully done. Nice photos.
If you had not shown the dimensions, I would have guessed it to be much larger.

David - All of your buildings are absolutely wonderful. I would love to see the actual models.

The pilings on which the building is raised give an initial impression of a waterside, rather than a lineside, building. For some reason, a sign pops into my head, "Jellico and Beatty, Ship's Chandlers, Maritime Hardware, Bait & Tackle."

Beautiful weathering, and I love the overall composition as well as the details. You really caught the "atmosphere". <3

The stack of old signs under the lean-to is a particularly nice touch.

Beautiful.

But there isn't enough paint spill and splatter on the deck!
lol
any good painter would have made a considerable mess. haha

Don, in my humble opinion, the idea that Jellico and Beatty would have gone, willingly, into business together stretches one's credulity a tad.

I agree with Dave, Sign Painting can be a messy business.
