Just a little rig.

It's no Bredford Dolphin drilling rig, (That's awesome by the way) but it's free from papertoys.com.

Neat model, and good execution. I'd like to see more of these rigs, in particular I'd like to build Ocean Ranger...I've thought about designing my own, but a lack of reference materials has so far put me off.

Really? the "Ocean Ranger" (aka "Ocean Danger"). sad story for that one.

KC, don't worry, jack up rigs work in shallow water and those wells can be easily capped by divers....lol!

this old rig is on display on the waterfront (strand area) in Galveston Texas. i haven't been on board to "see what life is like aboard an offshore rig" because there is an entry fee and i already know. people pay ME to go aboard offshore oil rigs. i do have some good photos of the late "Horizon" though, if anyone is interested...

Nice build! I sent the PDF around my team (I work in oil & gas) as a cost-cutting-to-the-extreme rig excursion, but no-one has built it yet...
