No way I could resist this fomby Fleet Air Arm aircraft.

Perhaps some day you can bring us the Blackburn, the Dart, the Airedale, and even the Cubaroo.

Not to mention the Avro Bison.

See if you can find the Harleyford Press volume on Blackburn aircraft. It has drawings and cross sections.

There is/was a Naval Institute Press book "Blackburn Aircraft Since 1909" by A. J. Jackson (also published by Putnam in Britain.) It can be found at various second-hand sellers online.

Alibris, for example, has copies from US$18.00: Blackburn aircraft since 1909 by A. J. Jackson (Used, New, Out-of-Print) - Alibris (http://www.alibris.com/booksearch?binding=&mtype=&keyword=Blackburn+Aircraft+Since+1909&hs.x=11&hs.y=14)

And AVRO Aircraft for similar prices Avro aircraft by R. T. Jackson (Used, New, Out-of-Print) - Alibris (http://www.alibris.com/booksearch?qwork=526536&matches=3&wquery=AVRO+Aircraft&cm_sp=works*listing*title)

Other used booksellers no doubt have similar offers, this is just the firm I use most often.

Is this books the same as Putnam series?

Yes. Putnam published a number of "__________ Aircraft Since 19__" books. Most, if not all, were later republished by Naval Institute Press in the USA.

Great resources, Douglas, but I am pretty certain that the drawing of the exceptionally ugly FAA aircraft in the "Progress 1924" advertisement is a Cubaroo and not a Blackburn. It's pretty distinctive: blackburn-napier cubaroo | napier cub | air ministry | 1924 | 0538 | Flight Archive (http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1924/1924%20-%200538.html)

The date did seem a little odd for a R.1. Thanks Don.
