Boeing B-52 D Stratofostress "The buff" 56-0676 307 th strategic wing at U-Tapao , Thailand, was the first Buff to downed a MiGs 21 during an air-to-air combat.

On December 18, 1972, during the bombing campaign Linebacker II in Vietnam, North Vietnamese MiGs 21 Fishbed were ordered for an interception mission. The crew acknowledged their situation that they had to face with danger, SSgt. Samuel O. Turner, was informed that the threat was coming, soon, the MiGs were coming in fierce formation and tried its best to down the Buff. SSgt O. Tuner tried his best to point his .50 cal to the incoming death ahead. The 4 barrel .50 cal fired directly to the target and downed that unfortunated MiGs.

This model was made to memorize of the valor of those crews. Some come back home safely and live peacefully in today wired world while many lost their lives during the missions.

I will soon provide free download B-52 H version 2009 here @ Paper modelers.com.

Another nice BUFF, Chiawatkom.

I'll definitely be looking forward to the H model release.

I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating 8v) My first encounter with a B-52 was with the H models at Kincheloe AFB, Michigan. I was on a C-130 from Elmendorf AFB, Alaska to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. We stopped at Kincheloe to refuel and while that was going on, I was standing near the base operations building watching the flightline activity.

I noticed a B-52 taxiing by and couldn't help but think how much it looked like a snake moving through the grass. The longer I watched, the more I thought how good I had it in Alaska and remember thinking, "I hope I never get stationed here."

Well, six months later I standing in the Fuels Distribution Office at Kincheloe AFB, being welcomed to the unit by the commander.

I came to really like the B-52H and to some extent, even the KC-135 after six months of working the flightline there.

Today, "The Snake" is my favorite favorite aircraft...tied with the F-15 Eagle.

NICE! Any chance you might do some X-planes to hang from the bottom of a modified wing?

I'd really like to get this model. I grew up around the BUFFs at Wurtsmith AFB in Michigan, and I get to see one every day as I drive past Willow Run Airport.
Been doing a lot of Star Trek models lately, but the BUFF is a challenge I'd take on.

There are a couple of B-52s in our download section by Gary Pilsworth, and there
are several (I count six) B-52s in Scissorandplanes thread here

I downloaded the model included in this thread, but all of my pdf readers (I have 6 of them) tell me the file is not in a valid format and can't be opened...

Funny, it opens perfectly for me in Acrobat Reader. Perhaps you've not been accepting the updates?

Cor, fancy sending him to page one of Bruno's thread Ray. It'll take him a month to find a B-52 from there! :):)

But of course EVERY newbie should be obliged to read that thread right through from the beginning as a condition of joining, eh?

Try opening the file on a new tab
It should download to your device. I have to do this with my LG. I also had to do it with my Samsung.
Don't know what the cause is, but this was my way to solve the issue. Hope this helps.

I did read scissorsandplanes thread - only took me about 6 hours...
Took Dave's advice and used a new tab for the download; got the model with no trouble.
I find it interesting that the kit has markings for Fort Worth. I planned on making this for my older brother and he was stationed there when he was in the Air Force...

Hee hee ... you're a fast reader. I take it your download file is now suitably stuffed to keep you going for a few months? Back in his free 1/300 series days, none of us could keep up.

already finished the B-52; not a bad kit. Unfortunately, I keep forgetting to take pics of these models before I give them away...

I have not visited this page for a long time and the model itself has been colored which it will be colorful after the printing. There are hundred of my works which already been colored with very tiny emblem with the card model. Currently, I work for many projects to the armed force and including the sand table and souvenir business. Royal Thai Navy recently asked me to produce 70 commissioning ship in tiny scale to fit the sand table education to the Navy Staff College. Today, I got an order to make a WWII submarine as a souvenir to the Supreme Commander of the RTN.

I once tried to upload my latest colorful card model version to your guys but the system keep saying that the data is too large.
