Question How do you make rivets ?

I saw a segment on WW l tanks, on Mysteries of the Museums last week.
One of the most prominent features was the oversized rivets. I'd like to include them on my new FG models.
Can anybody help me with a technique ?

I know alot of people just use glue spots, sure i've seen someone with a actual rivet mold you put glue or something similar in to make them more uniform.
I've also seen some paper embossing techniques for them, as apposed to image embossing which just look like rivets.

Among the model airplane community, dots of glue, usually applied with a toothpick, make pretty realistic, if somewhat large, rivets when painted. I prefer to emboss them by marking the backside (light box, or holding up to a light or window) then tap them with something the right size to emboss the paper. I have used a piece of brass rod rounded smooth, or if the right size, a ball point pen. Easy does it, don't want to break thru the paper. Jim

Made a post a while back. Maybe it will help you.

ModelHobby type97 Shinhoto Chi-Ha

As I have posted, you do not need to touch up the embossed rivets with paint because it's already the color on the printed side, you just have to make a dome to represent the rivets. The suggestions of the other posters are also helpful. Try it.

I either use laser cut bolt heads from this guy:

AvantCard - Nut and Bolt Heads

Or cut them out using a dermal punch.
