T-34/85 Rudy - Maly Modelarz 2005

I heard that every modeller has to build his own T-34.
I decided to show you mine non-standard approach to Maly Modelarz issue of that classic tank.
Fitst of all it's (of course...) painted, secondly I covered certain surfaces with the imitation of casted steel. Third difference in comparaison with the original are the tracks which in the kit are shown as simple paper bands.
I hope you'll enjoy the photos. If you have any questions I'll be glad to answer.

By the way - I made a serious misteke in that model (though a pretty one, I think...). Who will guess what is wrong with these pictures?

First off... Beautiful model Great job! Its hard to find anything wrong with it. Could your "serious mistake" be that there are guide plates on each link of the track rather than every other one?

Very Impressive, the more I look at your pictures the more details I discover. I especially like the "cast look" texture of the turret. Could you please explain the technique used to acheave these results.

WOW!!! It´s really hard to find the proper words to describe the AWESOMNESS of your model! I got my plastic T-34 out for comparison... your Model is even better! My God, this is so awesome!!!....

but I got the mistake: (saw it in comparison to the plastic T-34/85): There should be "teeth" only on every second track-unit and not on every single one... But thats not so bad, i´m sure there must have been a version with this feature

Again: Your work is unbelievably great! You should really post a full building report, so we all can benefit from your skill!

WOW!!!

Your build of this subject is excellent as is the rest of the
models you have shared with us. Looking forward to any
other models you will share with us. Any of the models you
have so far shown is a contender for P.O.T.W. Ron

You're right - I made too many "teeth" on the tracks.

The "casted steel effect" is done with glue (popular glue used for wood) mixed with water (to make the resulting substance thin) and soda (baking soda I suppose). Hard to describe it in words, it's just too simple. You put that glue no the surfaces with a brush. I'm planning to do similar thing with loaders hatch of my Bradley today. I'll try to take some photos.
The welds are done with the same glue, applied with a syringe+needle.

The painting of that model was not very complicated:

My first step is always the impregnation of the entire kit with a very thin transparent lacquer (in Poland we call it "capon" - it's used to impregnate wood, it's done at the begining, before you cut the first pieces).
In case of T-34 hull i used just two colours - humbrols 33 (black) and 116 (green). Green as a base colour and black for wheels and final wash.

The tracks were painted black, drybrushed with silver humbrol (i can't remember the number). I also prepared some dirt with poster paints (but its harly visible on the photos, the "dirt" is in the track holes)

Excellent Works
And thanks for the tips on the steel effect, I might do that on my next tank project.
