Do you have beta builders? I would be interested in building this. I have a method for curving paper that might work well for the roof of the cab.

Excellent design!

Hi,

I finished drawing this model in 3D yesterday. Please have a look for final screenshots.

I already started to make parts. I think it will take one or two weeks. I hope I'll be able to show you first real work end of next week.

Regards,
Michal

Do you plan to model the engine and drivetrain? In this scale, the vehicle will be very large with lots of room for detail!

No, I don't have plans to make these elements. First, I don't have good enough materials about that and the second most of them will not be visible and I don't see sens to spend a lot of time making something what will be not visible. I prefer to use that time to make this model and to prepare next project.

Absolutely stunning workmanship!! I would be interested in your opinion about Rhino5 vs. Rhino 4, and if it is worth the upgrade? (not that I have by any way shape or form mastered Rhino 4, not even close).

@Charles:Yes, Chuck. If someone would like to add the engine and whole drivetrain then why not. I think my model will be ready for such "extension".

@Zathros: Thanks. I think there is no such huge difference between v4 and v5 to force immediate upgrade, at least from paper model design requirements point of view in my opinion. I think I'm using only 10-15% of Rhino functionality so I can't compare these two versions very deeply. But v5 has a few new functions and functionality what I like very much. First of all v5 includes by default many plug-ins what in v4 have to be installed in addition. Some functions in V5 have additional parameters what are very useful. Next is new interface what is much better then in v4. Mesh related functions are much better in v5 but because I'm working on NURBS this part is not so important. Also rendering is much better in v5 but again I'm not using that so much so it is not so important for me. V5 is running a little bit faster than v4. I'm using 32-bit v4 and 64-bit v5 of Rhino. I like 64-bit version because finally I'm able to make 2D drawings (see attachment) what is very hard or impossible to do with 32-bit v4 version. In conclusion I think I'll buy the update when it will be released. Meantime, I hope, I'll get more knowledge about new features in v5.

I've made 2D drawings R4 but nothing like that. I couldn't even do that in R5. I like the idea of more plug ins. I have a new computer I built and putting the 64bit version in there does sound interesting. I just attached those pictures because I found them. Until you mentioned it, I wasn't aware they were two different versions, sorry!

The 2D drawing you posted is incredible!

Hello,

It is time to come back with new information and pictures about my Voroshilovets project. I have ready all parts which are on 16 + 2 A4 pages (regular parts + parts to be glue on 1mm paper). I asked one company to prepare laser cut parts for me. I agreed with publisher to not share picture from beta build and this is a reason why I froze this freed till now.

I already build aprox. 80% of this model and now I'm going show you step by step how I did that.

I started from chassis. I used laser cut parts to made chassis body. In next step I added all shell plates, covers, nuts and other small details:
