Where are the 1/144th scale tanks?

I've done a search but couldn't find anything to see if anyone makes paper tank models in 1/144 scale.

Just wondering how hard it is to put together and how much detail is lost.

Thanks!

Nevermind me.....

Looking at a couple threads showing 1/100 scale tanks, I'm thinking 1/144th might be just too impossible.

ask Ray (Texman), he might be willing to to try a couple.
I know its bigger than he usually builds, but he might prefer an easy build for a change.

You could glue a paint brush hair to a potato bug so it looks like 1/144 scale tank. =X

This is micro armor. A lead based miniature at 1/285 scale. I think 1/144 is 'do-able' but it is going to be tough.

I this is an image of a 1/288 scale tiger I papermodel which I copied from a japanese website a few years ago.
Some people can do this, but I can't.

Coooll!!

I think the person who reduced the original kit (which is from the Sega site at 1/144 scale) and built the model depicted is someone on this forum....

Cheers!

This, as always, strictly depends:
- How detailled is the original kit?
- What is your scaling factor?
- What are your personal modelling skills?

And, of course, how do you define loss of detail? I've seen 1/250 scale tanks scaled down from 1/25 kits. Undeniably, a lot of the original parts were not used , but on the other hand there was by no means any loss of detail visible. Actually, the reduction in scale might give a simple model a much more detailled look than in the original scale.

My 6mm scale Ork Gobsmasha isn't exactly a 1/144 model, but at 60% of the original 1/72 it comes quite close. So, possible is virtually anything, it just depends...

Instead of theorizing, why don't you just give it a try yourself? I'd say PTA's A13 cruiser tank would rather be ideal for it's free and not too complicated. Just do it!

Michi
