Gremir F15A modelperry beta build

Since Tim Crowe already shared the basics of this model in his thread, I'll jump right in on what I've done in the way of progress.

I have assembled parts from page 1 (Parts 1 through 15) and am getting ready for parts from page 2. Everything fits well. I would recommend the following fine tuning to improve the build experience:

Orientation of 6B and 6C is not defined by the drawings. A simple side view of the bumper would fix this issue.

Parts 13 through 15 would benefit from a seperate assembly drawing to show proper orientation. Also, I think that the right and left sides of 13 are labeled backwards. A pattern for the bolts for plates 14C would improve detail. I made some and inserted them between the plates.

I had trouble rolling part 12 E. I made a replacement from plastic rod and covered it with the delaminated color part of 12E to reduce painting needs. providing a optional pattern for this part may be helpful for some.

Greg

Excellent!

I'm glad to see you are doing this beta build, Greg, and will be watching with interest.

I can come up with the drawing - can you tell me what should be the length of those new bolts?

Looking good Greg.

I'm a stage behind you on the build. Your pictures have helped with the layout of the front end parts.

Wonder if we will see a third build thread on this forum?

Tim

About 2.5 mm long and I used .5 mm diameter rod.

More progress. The suspension mounting brackets, side steps and leaf spring assemblies have been built and installed.

I made more bolts, this time the spring assembly bracket bolts. They are made from .5 mm Dia X 3 mm long pieces. I have yet to make the shock connecting rods, so I can't say yet what their dimensions might be.

The front spring mounting brackets don't line up very well, so the spring installation need to be "twisted" into place. Also there is no indication of needing to roll the ends of the leaf springs befor mounting into their brackets.

All in all though everything looks good when in place and glued fast.

Greg, I have seen all these problems too. I commend Mike for doing a proper beta build.

Greg

Can you post a plan photo of the chassis, please.

I am struggling to get the chassis parallel.

Thanks

Tim
