Vickers Medium MK I - 1/25
Hello,
We have new year so it's time to start with new model. This time it will be British Vickers Medium Mark I tank. If you like to get some information about this tank please go to wiki page: Vickers Medium Mark I - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and to Vickers Medium Mark I - Medium Tank - History, Specs and Pictures - Military Tanks, Vehicles and Artillery I made it based on drawings from Russian magazine and pictures what I found in books and on internet. I found nice two tones camouflage picture of this tank what was used in Egypt in 1930s and I used this schema for my model. But I got some comments that this color schema was newer used for this version of the tank because this version was used only in UK. So, I sent question about used colors and signs to Bovington tank museum and I got very good guideline what I should use. My model will be painted on Dark Bronze Green what had become standardized on the BSC chart as no.24 and will have "ME 9900" vehicle number, T.29 number and triangle sign on turret (B company, 2nd Battalion of theRoyal Tank Regiments). I found picture of this vehicle: THE BRITISH ARMY IN THE UNITED KINGDOM 1939-45 | Imperial War Museums. Please find below some renders of this model: Michal |

The Vickers Medium Mk I seems to have been built by Vickers out of recycled components from a number of vehicles. It was done in a rush because the British Govt closed down the Dept of Tank Design in 1922 and no design, like
the Medium D, from that department looked like it was remotely suitable for service use. The fact the tank worked and was in service until the eve of WW2 says a lot about Vickers engineering. The Mk I had a number of problems such as the decision arm it with a 3 Pdr gun for which there was no HE round available. The Mk I was also noted as being extremely noisy, partly because the air-cooled engine needed a high speed (and noisy) cooling fan to circulate air inside the engine bay (that's the circular thing on the left front of the tank).
