Been busy buiding up the frame work pieces.
The right side turret is a tight fit into the main frame. this may be due to a slight overthickness (new word?) of the illustration board I used for lamination, but I'm not sure of that as the turret skin fit flush at the top and bottom of its subassembly. I replaced the paper pins for this turret and the main turret gun mount with plastic rod for durability and ease of assembly. The frame is very rigid. I think it is even more so that the frame for GPM's Lee. Next up I get to start skinning the hull. So far so good. greg

It really looks great so far Greg. Keep those photos coming - this thread will be very helpful in the future when I tackle this model.

Skinning has begun. The main skins are fitting very well so far. Two minor issues though. The sloped portions of the rear top skin and the underside of the fenders have no real solid connection to the framework. Mostly edge glued only for these areas. Not so bad for the fender areas but possible sag issues for the top piece areas over time.
Also, the rear tie down lug locating marks are misplaced too low. A dab of color will cover up these areas. Greg

More progress! Saturday was a non-building day for me as I attended an IPMS contest in Des Moines. I did get a third place in military vehicles for my Komatsu Dozer. This was nice considering I was not expecting to win even a third place at this event.
I did work on the Grant yesterday with some success. Here are pictures to get everyone up to date. I will say that there were a few parts not marked for lamination that I did laminate to 1 mm. This provided adequate glue surface for connecting parts. I thought it was kind of obvious where this would be beneficial so I had no issues with this omission. The inside vertical pieces of the drive housing and part 56, the turret top plate should all be laminated on 1 mm to improve the build. Also, the front tiedown lugs had no locating marks so I used the Lee as reference for location. greg

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Some more progress last night. The Idler wheel mounts are built and installed. The diagrams for these are spread between two pages and are a mix of each side (59 left side and 60 right) with no cohesive link between them. So I'll fix that here with several shots of the left hand assembly to help with orientation.
