iCardTanks' PzkpfwIV Ausf D

I've been suffering my longest bout of designer burnout. I decided to do self medication by building models instead.

I've always wanted to try building tanks. I chose to make the models from the iCardTanks website.

I started my build binge with the Pzkpfw IV.

Coming from my experience making aircraft, I must say that my first tank came in as a big shock. Lots of tubes! Worse, lots of tubes that required edge gluing.

Anyway, I had a great time building this.

The model was superb. All parts fit well.

Great job on the PzIV Eric! It's a beauty.
This is a fantastic little model. The kit really builds up quite nice and lends itself to additional details if you like.

I built mine a few years ago and went a little crazy with it....Panzer IV Ausf D

Hi Eric,
It's a very nice model. Did you really cut out the tracks, a laser wouldn't be better.
I never saw this model before. What scale is it?

Great job, Eric.

I wasn't aware of the iCard site until the recent posts. Look like high-quality models.

Yours is certainly a beauty.

I saw your build. Really awesome feat!
I took a cue from the technique you employed in making the tank tracks, and applied it to the Hetzer build. I must say that it produced a much cleaner set of tracks.

The scale is 1:50.
The model can be downloaded from i Card Tanks

Great job on the kit. You are correct in your therapy. often I build up someone else's kit and also in something I'm not totally familiar with. currently I'm building some one from deviant arts 1911 pistol as a change. (I'm a plane and ship guy traditionally)

I never realized that switching from one genre to another would activate muscles on my fingers that I never knew existed!
Cutting those bogies prompted me to go McGuyver and jerry-rig a magnifying glass to my desk lamp.

One of these days, I'll take a shot a building ships too....when I get the courage.
