MP Humvee

Here are a few pictures of my latest build. After attending the events at this years Army Heritage Day and looking at Rick's great Hummer builds, I got the itch to build one myself. I chose this version by Oliver Bizer, it's a free download, but for the life of me I can't remember where it came form (I believe another forum somewhere - if anyone out there has the link please feel free to post it) I liked building this model a lot. I printed out three copies so that I could do lots of extra layering to add more detail and texture. I also added a scratch built brush guard, rear view mirrors, and a whip antenna. I really like the paint scheme, half woodland camo, half desert tan. Please enjoy.

Great build - as usual, you take a low detail model and "spruce it up" with your layering techniques and added details. That camouflage scheme is certainly distinctive - possibly the result of field repairs using parts from different vehicles??

Looks great!
Olliver is our user 'Obi' - but the links to his site (from his thread here -http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/found-internet/795-my-brand-new-site.html) are all just going to ads.

I think the camo pattern is a result of the model trying to represent a Humvee with ASK armor installed. The doors aren't quite right for this, but this is not Kevin's fault, its the way it was designed.

Nicely done Kevin!

Great build Kevin! I like the layering effect. It really adds to the look of armor. Did you use balsa for the grill guard?
