The recoil will be transmitted through the vehicle into the ground via the suspension. I have stood right next to a Chieftain as it fired and have felt it myself. Inside there is a much reduced sensation due to this.

The B-4 howitzer had a large sized spade which stopped any significant movement of the gun carriage. I did find an article on the S-51 which said the carriage would move about 200mm upwards at the front and downwards at the rear. It looks like the S-51 was a bit Heath-Robinson since this sort of suspension movement is a result of the overturning couple which operates on large howitzers but there was no attempt to stabilise the hull against this.

You're in the home stretch, and the model is looking amazing. Great job on all the various tubes that make up the gun.

Greetings to all. This last stage is testing all my skill and patience.Rays, this thing has more wire than the prison we have in Ezeiza.I had to try several glues, none worked well, before a movement came off and back to start. The WoT guys recommend super-glue or welding.
After several years I returned to solder cables, and here if I got firm unions. The result leaves me more than satisfied. It still remains to paint all this and some pieces that I put on after painting. Thank you very much. |

Great work with all these wires. Much better than my grille (WC6) which looks like it was taken from the abandoned junkyard.

And in the yard. The photos do not do it justice, in front of me it looks great. As usual the design of WoT is fabulous. Thank you very much for all the follow-up and comments. To Charlie a special thanks for the valuable information and for warning me the detail of the well that I could correct in time. The photos on the outside show the painting something different, inside the naked eye looks almost identical to the texture. Thank you very much to all.
