1/72 Australian Matilda II
I continue my 1/72 Pacific series and here's the new model.
Matilda II in Australian markings. Another important tank of Pacific War. They took part in operations in New Guinea and Borneo Here's a good link where you can read much more: Matilda Infantry Tank in Australian service And just a few words about model. It's based on Czech ABC BESTR 1/87 scale design. Once again I repainted and resized it to 1/72. Also, I've modified the turret hatch and I've added exhausts which were not included. My Matilda II is based on the example from Puckapunyal museum. I couldn't find any decent WWII photos where markings are clearly visible so I relied on the pictures from museum. I'm still trying to identify what period this tank represents. So far, I know it belongs to Australian 4th Armoured Brigade. I'd be very grateful if someone could say something more about markings on my tank. That's all I think. Enjoy the pictures. Here you can find the DUKW from last photo: 1/72 Australian DUKW

It's a shame Puckapunyal (and no, it's not easy for me to pronounce either ) is a such an out of the way place. The Australian Army training base there would certainly be worth a visit.

Thanks for all kind words.
And thanks for the link to APMA, Malcolm. Actually I was wondering if those "traditional Australian words(?)" are easy to pronounce for native Australians. I had a lot of problems when typing "Puckapunyal" in google. So many times it said: no results. And I had no idea what's wrong! Then I saw what's wrong. I wrote "Packapyungal" or something like that...

Very nice, I especially like the scenery in the background of your pictures, it is nice to see the vehicles in their operational environment!
