I think it's an issue that there isn't inner side provided.
The area too big to be painted right, but you did a great job with those fenders, Kevin. And overall - assembling looks great By the way, in Panzer III from GPM there is inner side, like it should be.

Annoying with the fenders, but it all looks good. Good luck with the running gear.

That's truly impeccable work, very clean and spot-on. Great work on these hinges, and all these hatches can be opened. Wonderful!

Outstanding! The fenders really came out well. Covid willing, I hope I get to see this labor of love in person.

Thanks for the nice words guys.
Since my last post I closed up the hull and reworked the cooling fan unit. I knew there were problems with the fan (see post #45) Originally I glued the pully to the wrong side due to conflicting illustrations in the instructions so I fixed that. But also the whole unit ended up being too wide to fit in the opening in the rear deck covering the engine compartment so a bit of surgery was needed to make it fit. I cut it down slightly and glued it back together reducing the overall width buy about an 1/8". Now it fits perfectly where it is supposed to be and the pully is in the correct position. That's about all for now as I continue to work on a bunch of external details. |

Looks like an elegant solution to a thorny issue (a couple of thorny issues). The images of the cooling fan unit are practically indistinguishable from images of the real thing.
Another superb build in progress! I hope we will see it in Sterling in October. Don |
