Parts 62 - 80
Most of this group consists of the side skirts. This is fine as long as you do not attach them to the hull assembly. If you do, you are screwed when trying to install the running gear. Also, a minor point that bugs me on the tail light installations: the circular surrounds have their seam at the top. This makes no sense, they should have been at the bottom to make them less obvious. Greg

Parts 81 -89
The rest of the little side skirt details and the suspension arms are in this group. The suspension arm positions were fixed by using a homemade jig to space the bottom of the arms 6 mm below the hull bottom as indicated in the build drawings. Greg

Road wheels, drive sprockets, laser tracks. Parts up through 109.
Road wheels built up really well with no issues. Drive sprockets were not as easy, the conical parts were not sized correctly and needed to be trimmed down to fit the center spindle of each wheel. Laser tracks - The parts provided saved a lot of work, but there are problems with them. There are way too many lengths of track provided (8 vs the 6 needed) and too few outer pads (enough for the amount of track needed) and way too few inner pads ( not enough for amount of track needed). Also, no guide plates were provided, so kit parts were needed (no big deal). greg.

Great progress, Greg. This is a very impressive looking build. I'm enjoying following along.

As is typical with Angraf kits, there always seems to be one sort of major issue. With this one, it is the turret. Specifically, there are no diagrams or usable written instructions indicating how best to construct the inner turret structure nor how to properly add the skin. The bottom plate skin surrounding the turret base plate is particularly not well defined and required custom shaping and cutting of the kit pieces.
Also the center post assembly on the hull sits up too high and needs to be cut down to about half its height. After fighting with it Saturday, I was able to get on with some of the subsequent detailing and got myself up through parts 139.

Main gun to be installed later. No diameter given to wrap gun barrel to. Wrapping the barrel on 5.5 mm rod gives the correct diameter. I got lucky, I guess.

So here goes a long post. Finished this one up yesterday.
The rear rack has printed mesh floor that looks terrible. So I replaced it with aluminum mesh and painted the modified floor with Tamiya NATO green. The box in the rack is too big so I had to cut a notch in it to fit over the vertical post it interferes with. Even then the box is still too big to let the rack fit exactly as it was designed to do. The central rear antenna mount had to be modified to fit with a flat top surface. The two side antennas did not have a much needed diagram to show base construction. The top left hatch had a miss labeled white spot and no needed detail drawing to show where the hinge piece located. The smoke grenade launchers were a mess. Both sides were printed with the exact same orientation, which is wrong. Right side parts should be mirror image and most of its pieces were not. Right side top gun assembly diagram is worthless. Just saying. So how did I figure out these difficult parts? I used a Trumpeter Abrams model I built a while back as a reference. So, my parting thoughts are this: This would be a good intermediate model to build if all the parts were printed correctly and the diagrams were more detailed. As it is the model now sits in the more difficult to build range because of these shortcomings. I still like the end result though. Greg

Looks great, Greg! It has been enjoyable to watch you build this one, overcoming the problems along the way. Hope I will see it in person in Sterling in October.
