WAK Type 1 Ho-Ki

I decided to build something from a designer I trust with a relatively small parts count. Since this is a tracked vehicle, laser cut tracks will be used to further reduce complexity.

The added advantage of this kit is that there are English instructions provided.

So far fit is excellent and the drawings and written instructions have been spot on.

Greg

Always glad to see a Japanese vehicle under construction. Looks good so far, Greg.

Last night's progress. Nothing to say when the fit is excellent!

Quite fiddly little bits already. They all fit, though, which is good. The middle vent on the right side is the fiddly-est though.

Cabin is finished. Exhaust pipe pieces were trimmed for a better fit. Headlight assemblies were OK for pedal type domes but the "eyelids" were very fiddly.

Nice work and it's coming along nicely!

My sort of kit - not millions of parts! My ability to do major builds (even though I really fancy them and enjoy others doing them) is limited!

Thanks all for tuning in. I chose this one because of the designer, subject and parts count. If you go by primary part numbers and ignore the a, b, c sub parts, there are only 54. The cabin gets me up through 31. The tracks are 54, so last. As it builds up, the cabin is separate, the hull is separate and, I believe the cargo bed will be separate. My intention will be to do the running gear and tracks on the hull and then do a final assembly of all three main components. That way I won't have to route the track between wheels and fenders making for a much easier build experience.
