AK 74M Replica build
Hello people. A few days ago a friend of mine bought an AK74 airsoft rifle and i got hyped again to build a proper full lenght AK that i postponed for so many years.
Of course i had to start right away so the Sig pistol and MP40 will have to wait. I would really like to see more people building guns so i will post the files that i will use to build it. Starting off with the receiver i cut it out and folded the walls but i haven't took any pics yet so i will do that later today. Here is the file for the receiver aswell. Laminate to 1mm and cut out all the holes then score through the four places where it bends into a box. Pay extra attention to the 2 little rails on top as that is where the bolt carrier will ride on so they have to be straight and sturdy. This file is for the fixed stock version but i will provide the version for the folding stock also if anyone wants it. I hope more people will join me in making one. Have fun guys. |

Here's some updates. The reciver itself is mostly done except the 2 rounded parts that hold the magazine straight. As you can see the rest of the parts are the bottom part that goes before the grip, magazine release housing and latch and the trigger guard. Fairly simple so far nothing much to it. I drill the holes with a rounded file becouse it is the easiest and cleanest way to make them with such thick parts. Remember to put a drop of super glue in the holes and spred it around to make them stronger or at least the one that will have moving pins.
I will finish these parts tommorow and process them as usuall and glue them on the receiver and make rivets for some of the holes. The reciver itslef is still flimsy but after i make the rear amd front trunnions and rivet them in place it will gain sturdiness. That's all for now. |

Thanks rifleman. Here is some more progress on the gun. The magazine latch is done and pinned in the housing. The spring is a normal wire twisted into shape. I also finished the rear trunnion but it's till not riveted in. It is heavily saturated with super glue becouse it will help hold the stock in place and the rear piece of the mainspring. The 2 little round parts turned out good but were a grizzly task becouse 1mm is too thick to properly fold so i shaved it down to 0.5mm. Next up is the front trunnion and fire control group.
Also here is the file for the rear trunnion of the fixed stock version. |
