M7-a6-h-hover-tank

Hello! I don't know which subforum I should be in, so I'm starting here. The model is my development in one photo. I will be glad to hear your opinion.

Interesting thing. Is that a 4 barrel tail gun between the propulsion devices?

Nice model, but a flawed concept methinks ... unless you land it to gain some grip on the ground, the recoil of that main gun is gonna act like a reverse rocket if it is fired "in-flight". Did you not wonder why aircraft don't carry big guns? Puff the Magic Dragon's rotary cannons violently knocked it sideways. That's why they didn't point forwards.

John: The size of the gun isn't the only thing to consider, the muzzle velocity, weight of shot, fired on the move or from static point. Also does the anti-grav provide opposite force pulse equating to equal mass at equal velocity but in a negative orientation. Most SF stories usually manage to find some handwavium to correct for minor thiings like the laws of physics.

The guns point to the side on a US-style fixed wing gunship so that the pilot can keep them continuously on target during what's known as a pylon turn.

Many aircraft have mounted large forward-firing guns, the largest I can rec all goping into servcie being the 102mm on the Piaggio P.108. The Germans and US mounted 75mm on the Hs-129 and B-25 respectively and the RAF had a 56mm on a Mosquito variant.

The largest forward firing cannon in current service is the GAU-8 on the A-10 with a recoil force far in excess of the three 7.62mm miniguns on the AC-47.
