Kevin - Many thanks for that thorough analysis.
F. Scott - You continue to expand my knowledge. Many thanks. I am glad to know about the Mack locomotives (especially the BRs with the AC Bulldog hoods!). Wayne - Always glad to have you on board. You have such extensive knowledge of old motor vehicles. Until someone else weighs in, I'm calling it a Mack Type Two. Don |

Thanks to the person who pointed to the Detroit Public Library image collection.
I found a couple of images of the Holt Mark VII tractor caisson (a very rare vehicle) under test as a cargo carrier. I had seen reference that the Mark VII was modified and tested in various configurations but had never seen any images of the test vehicles. Regards, Charlie |

Yes. That Detroit Public Library collection has a LOT of excellent images of all kinds of turn-of-the-last-century motor vehicles. Many thanks to F. Scott for letting us know about that resource.
I'm glad you found a new image of the Holt Mark VII, Charlie. Lots of interesting vehicles in that tractor collection, too. Browse Collections | DPL DAMS Don |

Even though my messy health has prevented me from contributing model builds I still want to participate here, and try to contribute useful information, which is a thing it seems I can do.

Agree with Don on the reference. Even if it looks like a rabbit hole that I'll probably be down for way too long. Never can have too much information.

I think I almost enjoy the research as much as the builds a lot of the time.
That won't get me kicked out of here, will it?

Don, I guess we could entertain each other as we fell into the abyss of expelled papermodelers' members if commenting on history was an offence which resulted in excommunication.
While this thread is wandering all over the landscape... Andrei Romanchuk has been busy designing and has a couple of 1:43 truck models labelled Drandulette JH and JL. I've no idea, and neither does web search, whether Drandulette was real type of truck or any details about them. Anyone know? Here are the download links: https://vk.com/doc170023418_59182408...e841e185219802 https://vk.com/doc170023418_59182438...a7dc99d97bfa82 I think they are public access so you don't have to be signed up for VK to access the models. They're GAZ trucks.
Possibly from Ford connections. Last edited by maurice; 07-20-2021 at 09:52 PM. |
