The riveting technique uses the resin balls from water purification cartridges.
There's a video on the technique on YT - Технология имитации заклепок бумажной модели // Paper model rivet imitation technology - YouTube It's a nice technique but having to paint all those tiny resin balls would be a serious task. Regards, Charlie |

This model clearly represents a lot of skill and meticulous work. I respect and admire anyone who manages to add rivets to their vehicles.

It's a very nice build of the Vickers Medium Mark.1
I have a couple of comments and a question. The Vickers medium tanks weren't brown but they were the first British tanks to be painted Bronze-Green. There are 1:50 models of the Vickers Medium Mark II on the Landships website. Some (12?) of these were sold to the Red Army, called the "British Workman" (in Russian) and served until just before the start of WW2. World of Tanks actually modelled the Vickers Medium Mark IA with 3.7inch CS (Close Support) howitzer. The Mark Is didn't have the bevel on the rear of turret or the "bishop's mitre" hatch on the turret roof and had a 47mm high velocity gun. Have you thought about punching a small hole for the resin ball which emulates the rivet? It's easy to make a very small diameter punch from an inkjet refill needle or similar. The advantage is that the resin ball would sit a bit lower and the glue would blend into the surface a bit better. Regards, Charlie Last edited by CharlieC; 05-01-2022 at 04:49 AM. |
