Good progress Greg. Do you intend to detail the rivets, to make them stand out? Not the most fantastic task but the result would fit in with the other highly detailed parts like hinges and hand grips very well.

Looks great Greg. "Repainting" the side panels looks much more realistic.

Thanks Dave! Your efforts helped me get off my butt and fix the problem areas!

No, got too many projects to do, so rivets on this one are a no go. Want to get this one done sooner rather than later. My mind is already thinking about what will be next & it's a bit too early for that decision to be made.

As it is, I get a few things done on this one every night then I break out a random plastic kit to piddle with.

Greg

Good work, Greg. Glad to see you at work on another U.S. Army vehicle. I remember being impressed with your Fly Model M3 light tank model when we first met.

As you know, this tank is in the markings of an M3 that participated in the Western Task Force landing in North Africa on 8 November 1942 and is commemorated in a painting by James Dietz presented to the U.S. Army War College by the Class of 2010. Play Ball from Prints by the artist James Dietz

I was historical adviser on that painting, which hangs in Elihu Root Hall at the USAWC (and, as a print presented to me by my seminar that year, in my upstairs hallway).

Road wheels. These were a bit fiddly. Everything had tight tolerances except the tread strips. Like the return roller strips, they were too short. This doesn't make much sense when all the other rolled parts on these wheels were spot on.

Drive sprockets. Fit issues with some of the rolled parts. I did not add the provided bolt head details.

Tensioning wheels. Ok fit, just a touch of trimming here and there.

Return rollers and drive sprockets mounted.

I don't like the system used to mount the drive sprockets. Basically the axles are paper tubes. These are to large in OD to go through the sprocket holes. I replaced them both with plastic rod to improved results.
