KAMAZ Dozor - Modelik 1/25

After a particularly rough build I did not post on this forum, I decided to build something I hope is a more enjoyable relatively short build.

I have the Lazer cut set that should help shorten the build time a bit.

First up is the basic frame and the rudimentary interior. Not much of the interior will be visible at the end.

Fit of these parts is spot on.

Started skinning the bottom. Parts fit is very good. Minor trimming here and there on the rear skin (part 7).

Today's progress. Fit continues to be decent. This body is deceptively complex.

The oil pan was particularly tricky for some reason.

Finished fabrication of the front axle today. Yes it is steerable. No fit issues but two parts were called out for lamination that shouldn't be. Had to make new ones from scratch.

If you are familiar with Modelik models, they always color them without any sort of weathering, leaving that for the modeler to do. That's fine, but when assembling some things ( like this axle), the results look somewhat basic.

Again, I'm fine with that. The end results are just a bit different looking is all.

Also, you'll note the "pumpkin" part of the axles are reverse petals. One of the few times the petals worked out decently for me.

Driveline assembly. I inadvertently glued my front axle solid so it no longer steers (no big deal). Driveshafts needed adjusting (too long, which is better than too short).

Hood details.

Been a while since I tried to update due to photo attachment issues.

I have been maintaining a build log on fb though.

If attachments continue being an issue, I may just exclusively post picture there.
