That vehicle is quite insane - even the original Morris-Martel tankette wasn't that small. The Red Army hated their T-27 tankettes because even for small guys they were very cramped.
I have a recollection their may be a papermodel of the Morris-Martel tankette around - can't remember where though. [edit - designed by the late Sergei Kamotsky - https://vk.com/robototehnikpaper] Charlie |

You're right Charlie, it was insane
![]() An example of this is Polish variation about Renault FT which was called "Renault Wz.32"( what means: Renault/Model/1932) It was Vickers E 7ton tank's suspension mounted on Renault FT Chassis...Oficially it was dismantled between 1932-'34yr. For many years that tank was a unicorn...No one ever seen it... Until someone find his photo on e-bay with german soldiers in front of him... That makes another mindfuck... "dismantled between '32-'34" so WTF german soldiers from 1939 are doing on that pic ![]() To present day I know personally only 6 photos of that vehicle but it's still not enough to design a realistic model... Let me show You something... This connection looks unbelieveable but not for Poles, They did it ![]() Just take a look on this: Renault FT in Polish service: https://www.militaryimages.net/media...-17.12815/full Vickers E in Polish service: https://www.magnum-x.pl/files/2021/TWH/SP-5-2021/3.jpg Polish variation of them: Watch the wheels between 2 and 3 person https://forum.odkrywca.pl/imageresiz...wz32.jpg&x=800 And one more view https://forum.odkrywca.pl/imageresiz...py48.jpg&x=800 And one more from the other side http://imgur.com/jhU3Hib.jpg He's slowly rises like a Phoenix from the ashes... That's why I love to join the history with modelling ![]() EDIT: There's one more interesting thing, what You can see on 4 pic... There are only two tanks which have original Renault tracks, every other tanks have different types of short-links tracks, designed by Polish cpt. S. Kardaszewicz- his modifications upgrades max speed of Renault FT from 7,7km/h to 19 km/h... Over 100% increase of efficiency, it makes an impression ![]() Last edited by Jaroslav; 01-04-2023 at 04:08 AM. |

It must have been the fashionable thing to do back in 1920s - take a Renault FT and build a new suspension for it. The Russians (T-18) and Italians (Fiat 3000) did that. Even Renault built the NC-27 although that was just embarrassing. New tracks for an FT makes sense - the original tracks didn't last very long - so if you've got to replace them why not make something better.
Polish engineers did some amazing work especially considering the limited industrial base of the country back then. The first diesel engined tank, I believe, was the 7TP - the British were still fiddling around with WW1 aero-engines in tanks at this time. regards, Charlie |

That implies the real one was big enough to have an interior ...
I did not expect that.

As interior i mean the space between front and side armor
![]() There was the place where it took place all the social life between the operator and the machine... There was an engine and steering controls, weapon with ammo boxes, batteries, fuel tank, etc... The operator wasn't bored... Especially since he was following the vehicle on his knees... ![]() ![]() |
