WOT - Renault B1 bis
Hi all,
Here is my Renault B1 bis modele from World of Tank. Scale 1:50. Although the model is quite faithful to the machine, you should know that the color of the camouflage proposed for this model is false. Also, the shapes of this camouflage do not reproduce the official scheme of this tank. I modified the colors so that they are as close as possible to those used. Regarding the "puzzle" type camouflage scheme, it was more complicated to modify, so I used the proposed one with some improvements. The model not being complete (lack of parts at this scale), it was greatly improved with the addition of lot of paper and metal parts as I usually do. The details of the changes made will be the subject of a future article in our next magazine "PMP le mag' "!

There was an article some years ago in the magazine "Guerre, Blindes et Materiel" which discussed many of the camouflage schemes on the Char B1. If anyone's interested drop me a PM.
The Char B1 was the only tank in large scale use which used a hydraulic transmission. It needed this because the whole tank had to be turned accurately to traverse the main gun - mechanical and electrical transmissions just weren't accurate enough. The British had a hydraulic transmission tank in WW1 - the Mark VII - but the war ended just as production was starting. Regards, Charlie. |

Honestly, who cares about nitty-gritty historical accuracy when the result looks this good? As well as the camo, your rusty metal effects and worn tracks are superb.

Thank you.
The colors of the camouflage were modified with drawing software. The exhaust pipes were made with an electric wire having the correct diameter. As for the chains, they were painted in dark brown then treated with the rust effect from Army Painter. For the tank track studs, they were constructed with 1mm thick cardboard. Their sides were painted the same color as the tracks + shade from "Citadel", then I applied a silver drybrush to them.

Finally, if it should interest some model makers, the telegraph pole is a personal paper creation.
You can download the sheet and the instructions allowing the assembly of several types of telegraph poles scale1:48 on my website here => decors et accessoires en papier
